Its story begins in the 3rd century when the Roman Emperor Diocletian decided to build a Palace overlooking Adriatic Sea and islands to serve him once he leaves the Throne. Chain of events, later in the future, putted the palace in a centre of the town. Though the Diocletian Palace as well as the whole medieval part of the town entered the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage already in 1979, it was only recently that the tourists discovered this amazing place. Still, Split continues living its welcoming and easy mode. On each corner you will find a proof of the 1700 years old history, but also an intensive coexistence of ancient and modern. And you will have a guide to tell you all about it.
After the walk your guide will accompany you to a local bar for a glass of wine, cup of coffee or simply juice. This custom is so deeply in the genes of locals that is inevitable. The bar will be chosen depending on the season, weather conditions and of course your wishes.
